The Platinum Series Product Line is specialty line of Modern Masters designed to enable decorative finishers to create the most elegant and sophisticated finishes possible. The Platinum Series is made up of specialty primer/basecoats, glazes, colorants, plasters of different sized aggregates and metallic plasters. Many of the products in the Platinum Series product line contains zero VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds), contact La Mura Bella for MSDS information. Basecoats/Bonding Primers
Zero VOC BasecoatThe Zero VOC Basecoat is a bonding primer and basecoat in one. It is the foundation for all glazes and textures. Glazing over the Zero VOC Basecoat gives you premium open time with the Platinum Series Wall Glazing Cream and Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Gream and allows the glaze to strap down to a tough and durable base. All textures in the Platinum, Shizen, and Bellezza Series work incredibly well over the Zero VOC basecoat because the textures are so strong that when the textures dry the co-solvents in the materials dry and grab hold of the strong basecoat. Because the basecoat has such great bonding capabilities it enables all textures to be secure. Because of its incredible bonding abilities, as a bonding primer it sticks to many surfaces such as previously painted and clear coated finishes, tile, stone, brick, cement, glass, plastics, Formica, melamine, and more but should always be tested for assurance. Prior to applying the Zero VOC Basecoat to any of the preceding substrates, the substrates should be cleaned thoroughly to allow for proper adhesion. The Zero VOC Basecoat is also great for furniture and cabinetry. The Zero VOC Basecoat is sprayable, brushable and rollable. Thin with water as needed for spray application. The Zero VOC Basecoat can also be used alone as a Zero VOC Paint for any interior surfaces. Because this product can be tinted to the colors in the 190 color deck it opens the door for many color basecoats for glazed finishes using the Wall Glazing Cream or the Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream. It also give endless choices for layer tinted textures over color basecoats for endless varieties of quick, easy and production level finish for higher profit margins. This product can be tinted to most of the colors in the 190 color deck with exception of some of the darker colors or it can be hand tinted using the Premix Pigment Dispersion. Contains Zero (0) Volatile Organic Compounds. Coverage is approximately 320-400 square feet per gallon.
Zero VOC Textured Basecoat
Zero VOC Textured Basecoat The basecoat is the same as the Zero VOC Basecoat but has an additional aggregate added for additional tooth under various textures (see above Zero VOC Basecoat for details). This product can be tinted to most of the colors in the 190 color deck with exception of some of the darker colors or it can be hand tinted using the Premix Pigment Dispersion. Contains Zero (0) Volatile Organic Compounds. Coverage is approximately 300-375 square feet per gallon.
Wall Glazing Cream
Wall Glazing Cream is a superior slow drying translucent glazing medium designed for maximum working time and dries to a durable finish. The Glazing Cream works like an oil base finish but is water based. It has less odor than the competing brands, gives far greater working time and goes farther than all other glazes. Using the Glazing Cream for doing decorative wall finishes produces sheer layer of color, tremendous depth, and fluid color patterns. The Glazing Cream can even be manipulated to thinner layers and still maintain great open time. The Wall Glazing Cream is excellent for Marble and Wood Grain Finishes. It should be tinted with the 40+ Glazing Cream Colors. To reduce open time when wanting to do faster layering, you can add 5 to 30% of the Modern Masters Dead Flat or Satin Varnish to speed up the dry time.
Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream
Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream has all the exact same attributes as the Wall Glazing Cream (see above Wall Glazing Cream for details). The difference is the Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream is a lower viscosity glaze designed for doing sheer layers on furniture and cabinetry so the glaze hugs the surface leaving a low profile film for a true furniture grade finish. The glaze enables you to work it out to a very sheer film and still maintain excellent working time.
Note: Both the Wall and Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream can be used for the same purposes, if you prefer a thicker glaze on cabinets you can use the Wall Glazing Cream. If you prefer a thinner glaze for walls you can use the Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream.
Colorants
Glazing Cream Colors
Glazing Cream Colors are very fluid colorants with a creamy emulsion. Designed to tint the Wall and Furniture and Cabinetry Glazing Cream and can also be used for tinting KAI. Strong, intense, and transparent colors with an excellent color palette of over 40 colors designed for wall, furniture and cabinetry finishes. Great working time, dry as hard paint film, allow you to brush into glaze straight out of the bottle (SOB), reversible for a period of approximately one hour then dry to a good strap down.
Premix Pigment Dispersions
Premix Pigment Dispersions are Low and No VOC colorants that contain no binders and will not dry to form a film. The Premix Pigment Dispersions are extremely strong and tint fast. Perfect for tinting textures and basecoats. The Premix Pigment Dispersion are designed with 15 SS (Transparent Colors) and 15 MT (Opaque Colors) for a total of 30 Colors. The 15 SS (Transparent Colors) work best for tinting metallic products such as Metallic Paint Collection, Metallic Plasters and Kai, but they work excellent in all textures and basecoats.
Note: Since these colors are low and no VOC when they are used to tint low and no VOC textures and basecoats it keeps it “Eco Friendly”
Plasters/Textures/Gels
Texture Paste Light
Texture Paste Light is a unique troweling texture that is very light weight texture medium that has a fluffy and very flexible consistency. With the Texture Paste light you can build it up to get deep texture marks and pull it tight for sheer layers. When doing sheer layers it works great to brush in small amounts of Glazing Cream Colors and then trowel the color randomly for creating marble effects within the plaster. The plaster is also great for slight stippling to get suede effects. This product is best to be applied untinted but can be hand tinted using the Glazing Cream Colors as it accepts color very fast.
Transparent Troweling Gel Gloss
Transparent Troweling Gel Gloss is a thicker bodied gel medium great for troweling over plasters for glossy sheen. The Transparent Troweling Gel also works great for tinting with the Glazing Cream Colors and applying in very thin and sheer layers achieving depth of troweled color which is very unique. It is also tintable with small amounts of the Metallic Paint Collection to get metallic clear troweling overlays.
Transparent Troweling Gel Matte
Transparent Troweling Gel Matte is a thicker bodied gel medium great for troweling over plasters for matte sheen. The Transparent Troweling Gel also works great for tinting with the Glazing Cream Colors and applying in very thin and sheer layers achieving depth of troweled color which is very unique. It is also tintable with small amounts of the Metallic Paint Collection to get metallic clear troweling overlays.
Metallic Plaster
Metallic Plaster is a troweling plaster with a combination of mica and other fine particles build in to provide a beautiful shimmer when applied. The Metallic Plaster is available in a palette of over 40 colors. The colors can be intermixed to achieve an unlimited palette of color. The Metallic Plasters can also be tinted with the Platinum Series Premix Pigment Dispersion SS Colors and the Platinum Series Glazing Cream colors which are both transparent color systems that enhance the mica in the plaster. The Metallic Plaster is beautiful when layered in one layer of the same color or blended in layers with different colors. It has excellent open time enabling you to trowel the material without getting any drag, has extreme durability and can be glazed over with ease. Coverage is approximately 100 to125 sq. ft. per gallon per layer for “texture layers” and 300 to 500 sq. ft. per gallon per layer for “sheer layers”.
Shizen Series

The Shizen Series is made up of specialty primer/basecoats and plasters and textures of different sized aggregates. The Shizen Series product line contains low or no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). Plasters/Textures
Pataan
Pataan means “pattern” and is a critical element in the Japanese design. Japan is a pallet of visual pattern and texture. From the meticulously raked zen garden; to architecture; to the palette of food; the Japanese approach to design has historically been linear and asymmetrical, with texture and elements deeply emphasized creating a visual display of depth and variety. Shizen-Pataan is a perfect texturing medium for creating subtle to bold textures on both interior and exterior surfaces. Modern day, water base acrylic formula with extremely low VOC content, Pataan applies, easily, quickly and holds sharp clean lines of pattern with outstanding hardness. Tint and apply as instructed by your Platinum Certified Training Center. This product can be tinted to most of the colors in the 190 color deck with exception of some of the darker colors or it can be hand tinted using the Premix Pigment Dispersion. Contains less than 50 grams/liter, .42 max. lbs./gal. Coverage is approximately 50-125 square feet per gallon depending on thickness of application.
Kyoto
Kyoto is a unique troweling plaster that incorporates interlocking fibers, soil and diatomaceous earth with modern low VOC acrylic technology. Kyoto means “capitol city” as it was once the Imperial Capital of Japan dating from 794 to 1868 when the government was transferred to Edo. Although ravaged by wars, fires, and earthquakes during its eleven centuries as the imperial capital, Kyoto was spared from the firebombing of World War II. With its 2000 Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, as well as palaces, gardens and architecture intact, it is one of the best preserved cities in Japan. Shizen-Kyoto is a traditional style texture finish that can be found throughout the city. Tint and apply as instructed by your Platinum Certified Training Center. This product can be tinted to most of the colors in the 190 color deck with exception of some of the darker colors or it can be hand tinted using the Premix Pigment Dispersion. Contains less than 50 grams/liter, .42 max. lbs./gal. Coverage is approximately 50-125 square feet per gallon depending on thickness of application.
Kai
Kai means seashell. Kai is a unique troweling plaster combining the texture of natural soil, sand, stone and sea shells with an extremely low VOC containing acrylic solution, Shizen-Kai provides a natural pearl-like glittering texture finish with outstanding hardness and a strong resistance to mold and mildew. This product has the ability to absorb VOC’s out of the air. Tint and apply as instructed by your Platinum Certified Training Center. This product is best to be tinted with the Premix Pigment Dispersion SS (transparent colors) or the Wall Glazing Cream Colors. Contains less than 25 grams/liter, .21 max. lbs./gal. Coverage is approximately 40-50 square feet per gallon depending on thickness of application.
Koruku and components that make up a Pre-Measured Unit.
Koruku
Koruku means “cork” from a cork tree. Shizen Koruku is a trowel applied architectural, interior decorative texture, which combines natural, sustainable cork aggregate, recycled and processed rice straw with an extremely low VOC containing acrylic gel. The Koruku mixture is trowel applied over a scratch coat of Koruku Zero VOC Undercoat to create a soft cushion finish that is both warm and natural in its design. The functional elements of the Koruku finish, provides a healthy, comfortable and serene environment.
Koruku Zero VOC Undercoat
Koruku Zero VOC Undercoat is the first layer basecoat that must go on the wall prior to applying the Koruku mix. Koruku Zero VOC Undercoat is a unique, heavy-bodied acrylic primer/undercoat that provides a gritty scratch coat for applying the Shizen-Koruku finish. It has a superior adhesion to most surfaces without the use of any harmful air pollutants or volatile organic compounds which makes this a perfect choice as an Eco Friendly system base coat. Contains Zero (0) Volatile Organic Compounds.
Koruku Base Gel
Koruku Base Gel is a unique acrylic gel medium into which the Warasusa and the Koruku Aggregate are suspended. Contains less than 25 grams/liter, .21 max. lbs./gal.
Koruku Aggregate
Koruku Aggregate is an earth-friendly, ecological natural material made from the bark of Cork Oak. Cork Oak grows gregariously in the Mediterranean region and has the ability to regenerate itself. Because of cork’s tiny air spaces it is an excellent thermal insulation and heat retention material resulting in energy savings. These same tiny air spaces in the cork absorb and reduce noises resulting in a great sound insulation. Other attributes of this material is its ability to control humidity and it is naturally mold and mildew resistant. The Cork Aggregate is combined with fine granulated Japanese Cypress, which has a delicate aroma and is well known in Japanese culture for its spiritual calming and relaxing effects. The Koruku Aggregate is available in 5 different color combinations.
Warasusa
Warasusa means “rice straw”. This straw like fiber, made from recycled and processed rice stalks, is FDA approved for importation into the USA. This earth friendly merial adds an additional organic feel to the finish.
Bellezza Series

Basecoat Primers
Primer Mineral
Primer Mineral is a basecoat designed to be used under lime based plasters in the Bellezza Series product line. Primer Mineral has a light aggregate texture designed to be used as a scratch coat for better performance when troweling the Bellezza Series lime plasters over the primer. Generally the Primer Mineral is used untinted, however it can be tinted to most of the 190 colors in the Platinum Line Color Deck. It may also be tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Primer Mineral is a concentrated mix and can be diluted up to 30 to40%. Coverage is approximately 1900 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 380 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Rasatura
Rasatura is a primer/basecoat designed to be used under lime based plasters in the Bellezza Series Product Line. Rasatura is a thick version of the Primer Mineral to be used as a primer/filler with the ability to fill grout lines, slight wall textures such as knock down or orange peel textures and for filling porous substrates such as brick or cinderblock. Rasatura is used in place of the Primer Mineral to enable you to cut labor time when having to apply the Bellezza Series lime plasters over textured surfaces without the need of spending labor on several layers of drywall filler, sanding and priming. Rasatura can usually fill slight textures in one coat, however if the texture is deeper it may require two or more coats. Generally Rasatura is used untinted, however it can be tinted to most of the 190 colors in the Platinum Line Color Deck or tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 385 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 77 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Plasters/textures
Grassello Lucido
Grassello Lucido is a smooth polishing Venetian Plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a fine marble dust aggregate. This plaster can be applied in very thin layers, usually 2 to 3 layers to achieve harmonious deep effects in flat and glossy sheens. Grassello Lucido can be used with many production techniques as well as layered for beautiful decorative plaster effects. It has been used for centuries in villas around the Venetian Provinces. The plaster should be applied over either the Platinum Series Zero VOC Basecoat or Primer Mineral. Grassello Lucido can be tinted to most of the 190 colors from the Platinum Line Color Deck or tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 935 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 187 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.Grassello Extra Fine
Grassello Extra Fine is a finer and thinner version of Grassello that allows for and even higher polish with little effort. Grassello Extra Fine is made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months but is made from the finer spirit of the slaked lime. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a very fine marble dust aggregate. Grassello Extra Fine can be layered by itself and polished as finer polishing Venetian Plaster or more commonly, it is used over the Grassello Lucido as a higher polishing finishing coat. It can also be used over all the lime plasters in the Bellezza Series Product Line for achieving decorative effects in texture marks and pits or to add polish in areas over the more textured plasters. Grassello Extra Fine can be tinted to most of the 190 colors from the Platinum Line Color Deck. Because of the uniqueness of the product and being used mostly in final layers, it is often tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 1760 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 350 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket, however this varies depending on the use and how much it is thinned. This material can be thinned up to 50% with water.Grassello Green
Grassello Green is a smooth polishing Venetian Plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a fine marble dust aggregate. Grassello Green is a version of Grassello Lucido with green marble granules added that gives the plaster a slight gray and black peppered effect. The green granules actually appear to be gray and black when the plaster is applied. Grassello Green should be applied over the Primer Mineral. Grassello Green can be tinted but it is generally used without tinting or tinting to very soft colors in the Platinum Line Color Deck to not lose the colored granules. Can be tinted by hand with the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 300 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 60 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Grassello Pink
Grassello Pink is a smooth polishing Venetian Plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a fine marble dust aggregate. Grassello Pink is a version of Grassello Lucido with red marble granules added that gives the plaster a slight red peppered effect. The red granules actually appear to be a terra cotta color when the plaster is applied. The powder from the ground red granules gives the plasters a soft pink coloration. Grassello Pink should be applied over the Primer Mineral. Grassello Pink can be tinted but it is generally used without tinting or tinting to very soft colors in the Platinum Line Color Deck to not lose the colored granules. Can be tinted by hand with the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 300 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 60 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Marmorino
Marmorino is a troweling plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a medium fine 300 micron marble sand aggregate. Because of it beauty and architectural strength, Marmorino has been used throughout antiquity as a plaster in large developments and Venetian residences by famous architects such as Palladio and Vitruvius. Marmorino should be applied over the Primer Mineral. Marmorino can be tinted to most of the 190 colors from the Platinum Line Color Deck or tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 300 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 60 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Marmorino BR
Marmorino BR is a troweling plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a medium fine 300 micron marble sand aggregate with the addition of brown marble granules. The brown granules give additional beauty to the Marmorino plaster giving soft brown peppered marks making it one of the most popular lime based decorative plasters. The powder from the ground brown granules gives the plasters a soft tan coloration. Marmorino BR should be applied over the Primer Mineral. Marmorino BR can be tinted but it is generally used without tinting or tinting to very soft colors in the Platinum Line Color Deck to not lose the colored granules. Can be tinted by hand with the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 300 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 60 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Travertino-M (Medium)
TRAVERTINO-M is a troweling plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a medium 700 micron marble sand aggregate. Travertino-M is great plaster for achieving plasters with medium amounts of texture. Travertino-M works great for doing production techniques in one layer and two layer finishes and works great as an under layer for old world decorative plaster or organic techniques. Travertino-M should be applied over the Primer Mineral. Travertino-M can be tinted to most of the 190 colors from the Platinum Line Color Deck or tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 140 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 28 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Travertino-G (Gross or Large)
TRAVERTINO-G is a troweling plaster made from aged slaked pure lime that has been slaked for 18 to 24 months. It is a 100% pure mineral product with a large 1200 to 2500 plus micron marble sand aggregate. Travertino-G is the coarsest of all the Bellezza Series Plasters. Travertino-G is great for achieving plasters with course amounts of texture. Travertino-G works great for doing production techniques in one layer and two layer finishes and works great as an under layer for old world decorative plaster or organic techniques. Travertino-G should be applied over the Primer Mineral. Travertino-G can be tinted to most of the 190 colors from the Platinum Line Color Deck or tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 110 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 22 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket.
Lime Paint
Veilcalce
Veilcalce translated means “old lime”. Veilcalce is a lime based paint made from harvesting the milky liquid that gathers atop of pure slaked lime. It is a 100% lime based product. Traditionally Veilcalce was used across the Mediterranean for its hygienic properties, and later as a decorative product for brushing or troweling on walls and having the ability to be polished. This product in its diluted form is also used to achieve an aged look on different lime plasters such as the Bellezza Series Marmorino and Travertino. It is also tinted to various colors using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants and used for painting artwork over lime plasters to a true Fresco look. Veilcalce can be tinted to most of the 190 colors from the Platinum Line Color Deck or tinted by hand using the Bellezza Mineral Colorants. Coverage is approximately 1760 sq. ft. per 15 lt. bucket or 350 sq. ft. per 3 lt. bucket, however this varies depending on the use and how much it is thinned. This material can be thinned up to 50% with water.

Bellezza Mineral Colorants
The Bellezza Mineral Colorants offer a full range of natural earth pigments. All of our pigments are compatible with strong alkaline lime plasters and contain Zero VOC’s. All the Primers, Plasters and Lime Paints in the Bellezza Series Product Line can only be tinted with the Bellezza Mineral Colorants.
Waxes
Citrus Wax
Citrus Wax is a citrus based wax solution used as medium for different decorative applications. It can be used untinted to seal lime based plasters and for additional polishing. Citrus Wax can be tinted with the Glazing Cream Colors. This material can be thinned with Denatured Alcohol. Citrus Wax can also be mixed with pearlescent powders for metallic overlays. Troweled Coverage is approximately 80-180 sq. ft. per l lt.
